Concours d'Elégance

Procedure

  • 09.30 h: Line up of the vehicles in the pedestrian zone of St. Moritz
  • from 10.30 h: Concours d'Elégance – beauty competition with expert jury, food stands of the partner hotels
  • 11.00 to 11.30 h: prize-giving «best dressed team»
  • from 12:00 h: Lunch at Hotel Steffani St. Moritz. The Hotel Steffani has been owned by the family since 1930 and houses the first and oldest restaurant in St. Moritz (since 1869).
  • 13.15 h: Awards and prize-giving for Concours d’Elégance
  • 14:30 h: Individual departure


Categories

  • A: Pre-war vehicles until 1945
  • B: Classic Cars until 1980
  • C: Youngtimer from 1981 

 

Evaluation criteria and awards

The winner of each class receives a «First in Class» honor and is eligible to win the «Best in Show» award. Each car will be judged based upon the following criteria:

Appearance:
- Overall aesthetic and visual impact 
- Design, styling and elegance
- Care and preparation

Authenticity:
- Originality and preservation of the finish
- Period-correct restoration and modifications

History:
- Special provenance
- Rarity
- Engineering / historic significance

  • Jane Owen (ENG): Her Majesty’s Ambassador, British Embassy in Berne
  • Carl Gustav Magnusson (SWE): Industrial Designer, Design Critic and Juror
  • Ted Gushue (USA): Classic Car Photographer and Journalist
  • Alberto Vassallo (ITA): Founder «Car & Vintage» and Juror
  • Bruno von Rotz (SUI): Founder Zwischengas.com / Swiss Classics Revue
